Organic waste makes up close to 40% of the waste stream. Itis a valuable resource that should not be burned at waste-to-energy facilities or buried in a landfill. Quantum Organics offers the better option of turning it into renewable energy and compost.

Anaerobic digestion is a biological process that speeds up the composting process, capturing the biogas emissions and converting that to renewable energy. The residual materials leftover from the process are used to make quality soil amendments. The process reduces greenhouse gas emissions, saves money and creates valuable products.

Materials that can be recycled include all food materials, such as fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, breads, grains, liquids, fats, oils, eggs, dairy products, packaged food, coffee grounds and desserts. Quantum works closely with municipalities to collect this material, but they also partner with industry, to process large quantities of unusable food. A state-of-the-art de-packaging area will remove organics from packages and recycle the organics, as well as the packaging materials.
